Has your WordPress Blog been hacked!
I currently experienced this nightmare over the past two years. My personal blog Penny Pincher Marketing was hacked in 2014. I had been blogging on this blog since 2007 so there was a lot of content on this blog. Around September 14, 2014 I logged into my personal blog to create a new post since I had not done a post on it in about a month.
I had been focused blogging on my new blog! But when I went to login I got the dreaded password error. I knew that I had not changed my password. So I went about recovering the password and resetting it. I created a totally new password that nobody could even think about so whoever this was could not hack my blog again. Once I got logged in my blog was filled with 50 post that I did not create.
As I dug through all of my blog most I notice that there were one or two blog post a week that I had not created and this had been going on for a couple of months. So I logged into my webmaster tools and this is what I saw.
Now blog was deemed a spam blog by google.
So I spent the rest of September, all of October going through every post on my blog. Ones that I thought were spam or not relevant to my blog I deleted.
Next I went though all of the comments and deleted every comment that did not have a picture in it.
Next I went and tried to remove any links that I considered spam links.
I resubmitted my blog in November of 2014 for reconsideration and it took about 4 days for me to get a denial back.
My site did not meet googles terms of service and was still deemed a spam blog. I did a lot of research on how to get this corrected and really did not come up with a lot of answers.
All the time and work that I had put into this blog seem all for not. I had no clue as to what to do with it so I just let it sit for awhile.
Actually I let it sit for over a year and did absolutely nothing with it. I put my focus in my main blog http://www.jamesjshaw.com
So in October 2015 I started going through my blog again and looking for spam post, spam in my post or anything I could think of to get it out of google jail.
Moving over to the Kalatu Premium Platform!
After a lot of research I decided that the best course of action was to move my personal blog over to the Kalatu blogging system. Since I had 10 blogs because I am a Kalatu Premium member. So I created an new blog on Kalatu and mapped my Penny Pincher Marketing domain to it. Within 10 minutes I had my blog all setup and back running.
The next step was to get some new content on it. So I wrote three blog post over the next couple days and resubmitted it to google and no more spam blog. I was so relieved. The fight to get this blog back up and running was a big chore. I have not posted much content on it because I am just letting it marinate a while and have a good history of being a good blog again. As google stated in their email back to me it may take some time for it index again. I will start building it back up soon. See that action below!
